Indian Ocean Tsunami:
Torquay and Surfcoast surfing community rally for Tsunami relief.
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 12 January 2005: - - The Torquay and Surfcoast surfing community have rallied together to organise a fun family surf day to support the ongoing work of Surf Aid in Tsunami affected areas of Nias, Nth Sumatra, Simeulue and Aceh Province.
These areas have all been affected in some way by this disaster and over the years many surfers from this community and surfers from around the world have explored these regions, surfed the un-crowded waves and enjoyed the locals hospitality. The least we can do is provide them with support in their time of need from this strong and influential surfing community.
We encourage your support in spreading the word and making this a day that the surfing community can be proud of. As athletes, celebrities and entertainment confirm we will be sure to update you all.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to thanking you personally on the day.
