O’NEILL EUROPE PROUDLY PRESENTS THE NEW COLLECTION FOR FALL/WINTER 2007/08…
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 July, 2007 : - - O’Neill Europe is proud to announce their Autumn/Winter 2007/08 collection which has been designed to inspire and motivate people with an affinity for an active lifestyle. The range - which has been developed under three individual themes - is the most stylist and progressive collection for surf-inspired street and mountain wear to-date.
Featuring a co-ordinated line of bags and accessories, the new collection redefines the meaning of unity. An ever-stylish and functional footwear line completes the collection.
The three themes – manipulation, sophisticated cool and off line – each bring their own sense of individuality. Manipulation defines the meaning of the possible by colliding the natural with unnatural head on. Garments, boasting shiny golden detailing, glimpses of fur and delicate embroideries, are voluminous and glossy; shapes exaggerated and organic.
Driven by purity; fuelled by integrity; the seamless unification of sublime form and exquisite function is what sophisticated cool is all about. Sophisticated cool puts the emphasis on beauty and immaculate detailing to produce outstanding levels of comfort and freedom of movement.
Matt and shiny materials contrast to dramatic effect. A mix of high quality technical materials is used to create functional and cocooning fits, while tonal all-overs and tidy technical detailing on clean, asymmetrical shapes underline the strong Japanese influence.
Off line is heavily influenced by urban workwear. Street art-inspired prints and graphics clash with contrastingly-themed colors, detailing and shapes to produce a rugged and somewhat more conventional charm.
Representing an ‘out’ for all the positive creative energy of urban existence, off line’s overpowering strength lies in simple shapes fashioned out of sturdy and tough materials. Set to a construction site backdrop, the off line world drives home the principle of fun in simplicity through tonal browns complemented by gold, yellows and reds.
O’Neill’s ground-breaking fourth generation wearable electronics line, H4, has been refined and extended to deliver enhanced levels of performance on the mountain and in the urban environment. Now featuring seven pieces, including the new H4 Walkie-Talkie Jacket, the line offers true wearable multimedia potential. H4 products also enable access to IPODs, MP3 Players, headsets and camera facilities.
Boardcore is the name of O’Neill’s snowboard specific clothing and the 2007/08 collection is the most technically advanced and innovative to date. The collection caters for the entire spectrum of mountain from freestyle to freeride through the performance specific series of Launch, Freedom, Explore and International.
A wide variety of cuts, designs and prints complement the technical superiority of our technical outerwear collection and produces styles that are distinctly more urban and clean on the slopes. Tonal color blockings in color shades and materials are also important, and the same can be said for new qualities including houndstooth, jacquard and ribstop pigment prints combined with solid pigment prints.
Our 07.08 collection features a number of newly-introduced tech materials across both men’s and women’s outerwear lines, including Gore-Tex 3 & 2-layer, Gore Windstopper and Dermizax. These materials work exceptionally well in conjunction with our innovative designs and functional and stylish cuts. In fact, selected materials, including the high performance Dermizax, are matched in other parts of the collection, including gloves. Gore-Tex, Windstopper and Dermizax are featured in the International and Explore series of the men’s
About O'Neill
O’Neill, the original Californian surf, snow and lifestyle brand, was founded in 1952 when a young man named Jack O’Neill took his unstoppable passion for surfing and used it to beat Mother Nature at her own game. Pioneering the world’s first neoprene wetsuit, Jack had successfully found a way to extend his surf sessions in the bone-chilling breaks of Northern California. He opened up the garage doors to his first surf shop in Santa Cruz soon after.
