Searching for Java's best surfer at the Rip Curl Pangandaran Cup 07

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 August, 2007 : - - Rip Curl is proud to announce that they will be the official sponsor of the Rip Curl Pangandaran Cup 07.  The Cup will be held at the coastal town of Pangadaran in West Java on September 1-2, 2007 featuring a fun two-day session at the beach with not only a surf competition but games, live music and more. 

The contest is open to all surfers from Java, and the winner will receive a ticket to Bali to compete in Rip Curl's Surf Open 3-star competition in front of the Hard Rock Hotel at Kuta Beach on October 6-7.

Just one month prior to July 26, 2006 when a tsumani devastated the town, Rip Curl held its first GromSearch event there after having been a sponsors of the Pangandaran Cup in 2005.  As a result of the tsunami the 2006 Pangandaran Cup was not held, but this year it is back and named the Rip Curl Pangandaran Cup 07!

The town and its people made such a positive impression on the Rip Curl team, and working with the Perkumpulan Pemuda Pemudi Peduli Pantai Bulak Laut was such a positive experience, Rip Curl felt that the best way to support the local surfers and the community as a whole was to bring back this annual event.
