W Pac: Tropical Storms Hagibis and Mitag threaten Western Pacific | Track Typhoon Mitag
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 November, 2007 : - - As of early Thursday, EST, Mitag has become a typhoon and was centered near 14.5 north and 128.2 east, approximately 510 miles east of Manila, Luzon in the northern Philippines. Winds were sustained at around 90 mph, and movement was to the west at about 12 mph. Mitag is expected to strengthen over the next 24 hours and is forecast to make landfall late Saturday or early Sunday, local time. The outer bands of the storm will bring some heavy rain and gusty winds to the northeastern and eastern Philippines by Friday.

Tropical Storm Hagibis | Track Typhoon Hagbis

As of early Thursday, Hagibis had strengthened to a typhoon and was centered near 10.8 north and 112 east, approximately 370 miles east of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Winds were sustained at around 85 mph, and movement was to the west-northwest at around 12 mph. Hagibis is expected to strengthen a bit over the next 24 hours as it closes in on southern Vietnam. Landfall is forecast for late Friday or early Saturday, local time. The storm is expected to bring some heavy rain and gusty winds to the southern coastal areas of Vietnam by Friday.

As of early Thursday, EST, Tropical Cyclone Bongwe 14 south and 70 east. Winds were sustained at around 70 mph, and movement was to the west-southwest. The storm is still no threat to land and is expected to start weakening over the next day or two.

Atlantic: Tropical Atlantic Remains Quiet
No tropical development is expected across the Atlantic Basin for at least the next 24-48 hours. There are a couple of disturbances in the Atlantic Basin, but none has any potential for development. One tropical wave is located along 84 west, south of 19 north. It is moving to the west at 10-15 mph and will bring enhanced showers and thunderstorms to Central America over the next 12-24 hours. An upper-level trough of low pressure is producing a large area of disturbed weather near 35 north and 55 west. Upper-level winds are not favorable for development in this area.
