Quiksilver signs on for retail space in Carmarthen Wales

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 21 July, 2009 : - -  Simons Developments, in conjunction with funding partner Invista, has signed up Quiksilver at its 285,000 sq ft St Catherine’s Walk mixed-use scheme in Carmarthen, South Wales. Quiksilver has taken a 2,000 sq ft store bringing the total number of pre-lets to 65%.

Other retailers already signed up include anchor tenant, Debenhams, clothing retailers New Look, Next, River Island, Wallis and Dorothy Perkins, as well as Pizza Express, Frankie and Benny’s and Carphone Warehouse.

Mark Newton, director at Simons Developments, said: ‘Our development team are working extremely hard to secure quality tenants for this 10 acre site. We have had a good, constant level of interest in the remaining units and hope we can deliver a fully-let scheme in spring 2010; something in this tough economic climate we would be very proud of.’

Steve Llewelyn is the Quiksilver franchisee and already operates a first store in Llanelli and is due to open another two later this year in Bristol and Cardiff.  The opening in spring 2010 in Carmarthen will bring his total number of Quiksilver outlets to four.  The family also runs Llewelyn Sports shops in Tenby and Pembroke.
