NSSA results - Teddy Lyons and Meridith Miedama made it 16 in a row
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 21 October, 2009 : - - Ocean City, led by Longboarder Teddy Lyons and Meridith Miedama made it 16 in row for the powerful OC squad despite a great effort by the Southern Regional A team, spearheaded by Conor Willem. OC’s depth was too much for them.
Both Teddy and Meridith won individual titles and Conor edged out standout Michael Ciaramella from Middle Township A in a thrilling final that was decided on a tie breaker with Conor getting the higher single score posting an excellent 8.5. The conditions at the 3rd St Jetty were challenging as a Nor’easter provided fairly clean, but heavy, overhead surf.
Heavy enough to snap Conor’s longboard in half or he might have followed in his brother Brendan’s foot steps as both Mens and Longboard Champion. Mark Miedama was the iron man for the Ocean City B team as he made the finals in both Men and Longboard as he displayed incredible heart and endurance during the long day of competition.
