California Surf Museum to host Surfer Magazine tribute

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 18 November, 2009 : - - Sit back and Experience Five Decades of SURFER Mag through the Eyes of the Legendary Surfers, Publishers, Editors, and Photographers Behind the Magazine on Saturday November 21, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. 

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. at Oceanside’s Grace Theater for the Tribute to SURFER Magazine which begins promptly at 8:00 p.m. with MC Peter King. The Tribute includes video clips, a slideshow and appearances from SURFER editors Drew Kampion, Steve Pezman, Jim Kempton, Paul Holmes, Matt Warshaw, Steve Hawk, Evan Slater, Sam George, Chris Mauro, and Joel Patterson, as well as Sean McNulty on behalf of his father Patrick McNulty and iconic surfers Skip Frye, Shaun Tomson, Bob Mignonia and Rob Machado among others.

At the end of the retrospective there will be a Question and Answer session followed by a table signing with all the SURFER Publishers and Editors present. SURFER 50th Anniversary posters will be available on site. Tickets for the Tribute are $35 and are available at californiasurffestival.com or surfmuseum.org. Immediately following the Tribute please follow the crowd to the after party at Harney Sushi where the celebration will continue with music, comradery and half price specials for Tribute attendees.
